HER House (Harman Foundation Empowerment and Refuge House)

HER House offers safe, medium-term, shared, affordable accommodation for women and their children who are escaping domestic or family violence.
Accommodation is in a fully furnished home with private or shared bedroom and shared kitchen, bathroom and laundry facilities. Free food and household essentials are delivered weekly. HER House caters to women from the Indian Subcontinent community.
Places are limited and in high demand. Harman Foundation warmly welcomes volunteers to get in involved with supporting clients through difficult times in their lives and is especially keen to have any domestic violence survivors to join as peer supporters.

Harman Foundation Women's Empowerment Program

Harman Foundation Women's Empowerment Program is designed to assist survivors of domestic and family violence to heal from trauma and create healthier, more positive lives.

This program consists of counselling, activity days and health, well-being and life-skills workshops. Case management is also available.

The program can be tailored specifically to meet your needs. All residents of HER House are expected to participate in the empowerment program.

Domestic Violence Service Management (DVSM) is a registered charity which aims to prevent and provide support for people experiencing domestic and family violence (DFV) and homelessness. DVSM delivers services to support people experiencing Domestic and Family Violence, homelessness, or other safety and wellbeing needs in urban, suburban, and remote rural contexts.

Wilcannia Safe House (WSH)

Wilcannia Safe House (WSH) provides overnight, short and medium term accommodation for women with or without children who are escaping or experiencing Domestic and Family Violence.The service also provides outreach support for people in the community who are escaping or experiencing Domestic and Family Violence, are homeless, or at risk of homelessness.

The Wilcannia Safe House predominantly supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

The service prioritises work with;
Young People between 16 and 25
Women over 25
Families with children including those escaping Domestic and Family Violence.
